I'm still active and independent. Is Montereau right for me?
Our apartments and Garden Homes provide the opportunity for active and independent older adults to enjoy their current lifestyles, while being relieved of the burden of home maintenance and enjoying peace of mind for the future.
What is the procedure for admission to Montereau?
After meeting with a retirement counselor, you'll select an apartment or Garden Home, make the appropriate deposit and sign a Residency Agreement.
What does it cost to live at Montereau?
The cost of living at Montereau is made up of a one-time entrance fee that is up to 90% refundable to you or your estate, regardless of how long you live here, and a monthly service fee. What is the time frame to place a reservation and move in?
Once the fully refundable 10% deposit is made, the typical move-in is within 90 days. However, moving in sooner is possible.
I have so much to do before I move in. Is any help available?
Our move-in coordinator is a wonderful resource for information that can ease your move and minimize your stress. We understand this is a major transition, and we want to make the move as convenient and enjoyable as possible. Also, we offer numerous resources to help you with your move – realtors, downsizing experts, moving companies and much more.
What is furnished in my residence?
All appliances, including washer, dryer, microwave, stove/cooktop, refrigerator/freezer, disposal, dishwasher and blinds, as well as independently controlled heating and air conditioning, are furnished and maintained by Montereau. Your personal furnishings will make your new residence a home.
Can I make modifications to my residence?
Yes, modifications can be made with prior approval and are your financial responsibility; however, they remain the property of Montereau. Please contact a retirement counselor with specific questions pertaining to modifications.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, family pets such as dogs, cats, fish and birds are welcome upon approval.
What is a CCRC (continuing care retirement community)?
Montereau is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), which is a "plan for the future." We offer independent living and a full continuum of on-site care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care.
What happens to my apartment or Garden Home if I leave Montereau?
When your Residency Agreement terminates and your apartment or Garden Home is reoccupied by another resident, you or your estate will receive a refund of up to 90% of your original entrance fee. What does the monthly service fee cover?
The monthly service fee covers weekly housekeeping services, transportation, a $300 per person/per month flexible dining program, access to fitness programs, swimming pool, spa, access to on-site health care, many activities, basic cable, and all utilities except for phone service.
What if I make my deposit and decide not to move to Montereau?
Your entire deposit will be refunded within 60 days after we receive your written letter of intent to cancel your reservation. Only your $150 processing fee is nonrefundable.
I often have family visit me, sometimes overnight. Are children/grandchildren welcome to visit me at Montereau?
Of course! Montereau is your home, and your family is always welcome to join you for dining and other activities. We also have guest suites available with advance reservations.
Is parking available for my car(s)?
Each Garden Home has a two-car attached garage, and each apartment comes with one covered parking space. Underground parking for apartment residents is available for a one-time, fully refundable fee.
