1. I am still active and independent. Is Montereau right for me?
Our apartments and cottages provide the opportunity for active and independent senior adults to enjoy their current lifestyles while relieving the burden of home maintenance and putting their minds at ease for the future.
2. What is the procedure for admission to Montereau?

After meeting with a retirement counselor, the prospective resident selects an apartment or cottage, makes the appropriate deposit and signs a Residency Agreement. The Admissions Committee reviews all applications and decides on admittance, contingent upon a financial review and physician’s report.

3. What is the cost?
The cost of living at Montereau in Warren Woods is made up of a one-time entry fee that is 90% refundable to you or your estate, regardless of how long you live here, and a monthly service fee. The entry fee and monthly service fee depend on the floor plan you choose.
4. What is the time frame to place a reservation and move in?
Once the fully refundable 10% deposit is made, the typical move-in is within 90 days. However, moving in sooner is possible.
5. I have so much to do before I move in, is any help available?
Our move-in coordinator is the hub of information that can ease your move and minimize the stress. We understand this is a major transition, and we want to make the move as convenient and enjoyable as possible.
6. What is furnished in my residence?
All appliances including washer, dryer, microwave, stove/cook top, refrigerator/freezer, disposal and dishwasher, as well as independently controlled heating and air conditioning are furnished and maintained by Montereau in Warren Woods. Each resident will provide their own furniture and window coverings.
7. Can I make modifications to my residence?
Modifications can be made with prior approval, and are the financial responsibility of the resident and remain property of Montereau in Warren Woods. Please contact a retirement counselor with specific questions pertaining to modifications.
8. Are pets allowed?

Yes, family pets such as dogs, cats, fish and birds are welcome upon approval of Montereau's Chief Executive Officer.

9. What is a CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community)?
Montereau in Warren Woods is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), which is a “Plan for the Future”. Health Care is on the premises for the residents’ future needs. Our continuum of care includes independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and dementia care.
10. What happens to my apartment or cottage if I leave Montereau?
When your apartment or cottage is resold and paid in full, you or your estate will receive a refund of 90% of your original entrance fee.
11. What does the monthly service fee cover?
The monthly service fee covers once-a-week housekeeping services, flat linen service, transportation, $300 per person meal allowance, access to fitness, swimming pool, spa, 15 days of health care annually, many activities, basic cable, and all utilities except for phone service.
12. What if I make my deposit and decide not to move in?
Your entire deposit will be refunded 60 days after we receive your written letter of intent to cancel your reservation. Only your $150 processing fee is non-refundable.
13. I often have family visit me, sometimes overnight. Are children/grandchildren welcome to visit me at Montereau?
Of course! Montereau is your home, and family is always welcome to join you for dining and other activities. We also have guest suites available with advance reservations.
14. Is parking available for my car(s)?
Each cottage has a two car attached garage, and each apartment comes with one covered parking space. Underground parking for apartment residents is available for a one-time, fully refundable cost.
